Hook Pattern Classifier
Classify your hook (the first 1-3 seconds) by psychological pattern. Most viral short hooks match one of 8 patterns; this tool scores your draft against each.
How to read the score
Each pattern gets 0–10. The top pattern is your primary hook style. Two scores above 6 mean you are stacking patterns (good); three above 6 starts to feel manipulative to viewers (bad for retention).
Use this before writing the body. If no pattern scores above 5, your hook is informational, which works only for specific niches (tutorials, news). For storytelling, transformation or curiosity content, you want at least one pattern above 7.
Original notes & limits
This is a pattern matcher, not an AI judge of truth. A "social proof" hook that fabricates numbers will get a high score - your ethics are still on you. The 8 patterns we use come from a survey of publicly analyzed top-performers, not platform-secret data.
The English-language heuristics may mis-rank very short hooks (under 6 words). Add a few more words if your top score feels wrong.
